Bank Indonesia kept its policy rate at 5.75% following its 22–23 September 2026 board meeting. The deposit-facility rate remained 4.75% and the lending-facility rate 6.50%, according to the central bank’s dated release.
The bank framed the decision around currency stability, its inflation target and economic growth. Alongside unchanged rates, it increased incentives on selected foreign-exchange hedging instruments, including longer-tenor transactions connected to foreign funding. It also continued incentives for local-currency transactions with partner countries.
The domestic outlook remained supportive but uneven. Bank Indonesia projected 2026 growth in a 4.9%–5.7% range and described household consumption as resilient. It said government investment was supporting activity while private investment needed strengthening. August consumer inflation was reported at 3.19% year on year, within the bank’s target corridor.
The package also included preparations for stronger inclusive-financing rules from October and wider digital-payment acceptance. It combines measures intended to protect currency stability with policies supporting domestic activity. These were September meeting settings, rather than a forecast of the next decision.
